Barangay Bonkokan Ilaya

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Bonkokan Ilaya is one of the administrative divisions of Lila in Bohol, Central Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bonkokan Ilaya had a population of 631. This made it the 11th largest of 18 barangays in Lila by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bonkokan Ilaya accounted for approximately 5.16% of the total population of Lila, which stood at 12,240 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 660 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 631 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -4.4%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Bonkokan Ilaya is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Lila is a municipality comprising 18 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bonkokan Ilaya, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
