Barangay Pangapisan Sur

Barangay Pangapisan Sur is a small barangay in the municipality of Lingayen, located in the province of Pangasinan, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Pangapisan Sur had a population of 1,791. This made it the 26th largest of 32 barangays in Lingayen by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pangapisan Sur accounted for approximately 1.66% of the total population of Lingayen, which stood at 107,728 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,887 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,791 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -5.1%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Pangapisan Sur as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Lingayen is a municipality comprising 32 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pangapisan Sur, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
