Barangay Ambil

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Ambil is one of the administrative divisions of Looc in Occidental Mindoro, MIMAROPA Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Ambil had a population of 1,725. This made it the 1st largest of 9 barangays in Looc by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Ambil accounted for approximately 22.11% of the total population of Looc, which stood at 7,802 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,035 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,725 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -15.2%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Ambil is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
