Barangay Eastern Poblacion

Situated in Lopez Jaena, Misamis Occidental, Barangay Eastern Poblacion is one of 28 barangays that make up the municipality within Northern Mindanao.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Eastern Poblacion had a population of 2,983. This made it the 2nd largest of 28 barangays in Lopez Jaena by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Eastern Poblacion accounted for approximately 11.69% of the total population of Lopez Jaena, which stood at 25,507 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Eastern Poblacion moving from 2,767 residents to 2,983 residents, an intercensal change of +7.8%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Eastern Poblacion is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
