Barangay Bagong Silang

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Bagong Silang is one of the administrative divisions of Los Baños in Laguna, CALABARZON, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bagong Silang had a population of 707. This made it the 14th largest of 14 barangays in Los Baños by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bagong Silang accounted for approximately 0.61% of the total population of Los Baños, which stood at 115,353 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Bagong Silang changed from 629 to 707, a shift of +12.4% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Los Baños. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bagong Silang as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Los Baños is a municipality comprising 14 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bagong Silang, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Laguna, which contains 681 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Bagong Silang ranks 527th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
