Barangay Wawa

Barangay Wawa forms part of Lumban, a municipality in Laguna, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

This made it the 2nd largest of 16 barangays in Lumban by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Wawa changed from 3,693 to 4,084, a shift of +10.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Lumban. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Wawa as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Lumban is a municipality comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Wawa, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Laguna, which contains 681 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Wawa ranks 213th by 2020 population. Laguna is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.
