Barangay Turod

Barangay Turod is a small barangay in the municipality of Luna, located in the province of Apayao, in the CAR region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Turod had a population of 1,190. This made it the 6th largest of 22 barangays in Luna by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Turod accounted for approximately 5.59% of the total population of Luna, which stood at 21,297 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Turod moving from 1,092 residents to 1,190 residents, an intercensal change of +9.0%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Turod as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Luna is a municipality comprising 22 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Turod, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
