Barangay Alcala (Pob.)

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Alcala (Pob.) is one of the administrative divisions of Luna in La Union, Ilocos Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Alcala (Pob.) had a population of 814. This made it the 20th largest of 40 barangays in Luna by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Alcala (Pob.) accounted for approximately 2.18% of the total population of Luna, which stood at 37,318 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 836 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 814 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -2.6%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Alcala (Pob.) is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Luna is a municipality comprising 40 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Alcala (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
