Situated in Macalelon, Quezon, Barangay Calantas is one of 30 barangays that make up the municipality within CALABARZON.

The barangay recorded 788 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,078 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +36.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Calantas is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
