Barangay Aguada Sur

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Aguada Sur is one of the administrative divisions of Magallanes in Sorsogon, Bicol Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Aguada Sur had a population of 1,225. This made it the 10th largest of 34 barangays in Magallanes by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Aguada Sur accounted for approximately 3.27% of the total population of Magallanes, which stood at 37,411 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,159 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,225 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +5.7%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Aguada Sur is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Magallanes is a municipality comprising 34 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Aguada Sur, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
