Barangay Binisitahan del Norte

Barangay Binisitahan del Norte is a small barangay in the municipality of Magallanes, located in the province of Sorsogon, in the Bicol Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Binisitahan del Norte had a population of 994. This made it the 18th largest of 34 barangays in Magallanes by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Binisitahan del Norte accounted for approximately 2.66% of the total population of Magallanes, which stood at 37,411 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 917 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 994 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +8.4%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Binisitahan del Norte as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Magallanes is a municipality comprising 34 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Binisitahan del Norte, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
