Barangay Balete

Situated in Magpet, Cotabato, Barangay Balete is one of 32 barangays that make up the municipality within SOCCSKSARGEN.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Balete had a population of 1,607. This made it the 13th largest of 32 barangays in Magpet by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Balete accounted for approximately 2.99% of the total population of Magpet, which stood at 53,800 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,674 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,607 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -4.0%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Balete as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Magpet is a municipality comprising 32 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Balete, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cotabato, which contains 543 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Balete ranks 304th by 2020 population.
