Barangay Malinao

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Malinao is one of the administrative divisions of Mahaplag in Leyte, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Malinao had a population of 1,804. This made it the 3rd largest of 28 barangays in Mahaplag by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Malinao accounted for approximately 6.47% of the total population of Mahaplag, which stood at 27,865 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Malinao moving from 1,787 residents to 1,804 residents, an intercensal change of +1.0%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community.
