Barangay Bobona-on

Classified as a very small barangay, Barangay Bobona-on is one of the administrative divisions of Mainit in Surigao Del Norte, Caraga, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bobona-on had a population of 217. This made it the 21st largest of 21 barangays in Mainit by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bobona-on accounted for approximately 0.77% of the total population of Mainit, which stood at 28,019 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 209 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 217 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +3.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bobona-on as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Mainit is a municipality comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bobona-on, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Surigao Del Norte, which contains 335 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Bobona-on ranks 332nd by 2020 population.
