Barangay Bagong Silang

Barangay Bagong Silang forms part of Maragusan, a municipality in Davao De Oro, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bagong Silang had a population of 3,362. This made it the 5th largest of 24 barangays in Maragusan by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bagong Silang accounted for approximately 5.22% of the total population of Maragusan, which stood at 64,412 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 3,490 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 3,362 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -3.7%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Bagong Silang is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Maragusan is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bagong Silang, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
