Barangay Talanusa

Barangay Talanusa forms part of Margosatubig, a municipality in Zamboanga Del Sur, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Talanusa had a population of 831. This made it the 13th largest of 17 barangays in Margosatubig by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Talanusa accounted for approximately 2.15% of the total population of Margosatubig, which stood at 38,660 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Talanusa changed from 1,257 to 831, a shift of -33.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Margosatubig. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Talanusa as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Margosatubig is a municipality comprising 17 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Talanusa, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
