Barangay Tapuac

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Tapuac is one of the administrative divisions of Masinloc in Zambales, Central Luzon, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tapuac had a population of 3,087. This made it the 9th largest of 13 barangays in Masinloc by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tapuac accounted for approximately 5.66% of the total population of Masinloc, which stood at 54,529 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Tapuac moving from 2,704 residents to 3,087 residents, an intercensal change of +14.2%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Tapuac is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Masinloc is a municipality comprising 13 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tapuac, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
