Barangay Bonoy (Pob.)

Situated in Matag-Ob, Leyte, Barangay Bonoy (Pob.) is one of 21 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bonoy (Pob.) had a population of 590. This made it the 14th largest of 21 barangays in Matag-Ob by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bonoy (Pob.) accounted for approximately 3.37% of the total population of Matag-Ob, which stood at 17,522 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Bonoy (Pob.) changed from 599 to 590, a shift of -1.5% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with broadly stable populations in Matag-Ob. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bonoy (Pob.) as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
