Barangay Tungkil

Barangay Tungkil forms part of Minglanilla, a municipality in Cebu, and is classified as a large barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Tungkil had a population of 13,597. This made it the 5th largest of 19 barangays in Minglanilla by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tungkil accounted for approximately 9.00% of the total population of Minglanilla, which stood at 151,002 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Tungkil moving from 13,109 residents to 13,597 residents, an intercensal change of +3.7%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Tungkil as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Minglanilla is a municipality comprising 19 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tungkil, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
