Situated in Monreal, Masbate, Barangay Poblacion is one of 11 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 6,031. This made it the 1st largest of 11 barangays in Monreal by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 23.97% of the total population of Monreal, which stood at 25,164 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Poblacion moving from 6,293 residents to 6,031 residents, an intercensal change of -4.2%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community.
