Barangay Silangan Kabubuhayan

Barangay Silangan Kabubuhayan is a small barangay in the municipality of Nagcarlan, located in the province of Laguna, in the CALABARZON region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Silangan Kabubuhayan had a population of 880. This made it the 26th largest of 52 barangays in Nagcarlan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Silangan Kabubuhayan accounted for approximately 1.36% of the total population of Nagcarlan, which stood at 64,866 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 909 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 880 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -3.2%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Silangan Kabubuhayan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Nagcarlan is a municipality comprising 52 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Silangan Kabubuhayan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Laguna, which contains 681 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Silangan Kabubuhayan ranks 498th by 2020 population.
