Barangay Magangit

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Magangit is one of the administrative divisions of New Bataan in Davao De Oro, Davao Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Magangit had a population of 1,796. This made it the 8th largest of 16 barangays in New Bataan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Magangit accounted for approximately 3.49% of the total population of New Bataan, which stood at 51,466 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Magangit moving from 1,879 residents to 1,796 residents, an intercensal change of -4.4%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Magangit as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
