Barangay Guinobatan

Barangay Guinobatan is a small barangay in the municipality of New Lucena, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Guinobatan had a population of 828. This made it the 11th largest of 21 barangays in New Lucena by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Guinobatan accounted for approximately 3.41% of the total population of New Lucena, which stood at 24,314 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Guinobatan moving from 731 residents to 828 residents, an intercensal change of +13.3%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Guinobatan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

New Lucena is a municipality comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Guinobatan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
