Barangay Barangobong

Barangay Barangobong is a very small barangay in the municipality of Nueva Era, located in the province of Ilocos Norte, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Barangobong had a population of 443. This made it the 11th largest of 11 barangays in Nueva Era by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Barangobong accounted for approximately 3.70% of the total population of Nueva Era, which stood at 11,968 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Barangobong moving from 370 residents to 443 residents, an intercensal change of +19.7%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Barangobong is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
