Barangay Caray

Barangay Caray is a small barangay in the municipality of Nueva Era, located in the province of Ilocos Norte, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Caray had a population of 824. This made it the 7th largest of 11 barangays in Nueva Era by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Caray accounted for approximately 6.89% of the total population of Nueva Era, which stood at 11,968 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Caray moving from 763 residents to 824 residents, an intercensal change of +8.0%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Caray is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
