Barangay Matambo

Barangay Matambo is a very small barangay in the municipality of Oas, located in the province of Albay, in the Bicol Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Matambo had a population of 484. This made it the 48th largest of 53 barangays in Oas by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Matambo accounted for approximately 0.73% of the total population of Oas, which stood at 66,084 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Matambo moving from 489 residents to 484 residents, an intercensal change of -1.0%. The trajectory indicates a broadly stable community. Barangay Matambo is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Oas is a municipality comprising 53 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Matambo, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
