Barangay Pulo Mabao

Barangay Pulo Mabao is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Olutanga, located in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, in the Zamboanga Peninsula region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Pulo Mabao had a population of 3,422. This made it the 2nd largest of 19 barangays in Olutanga by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pulo Mabao accounted for approximately 8.90% of the total population of Olutanga, which stood at 38,438 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Pulo Mabao moving from 2,916 residents to 3,422 residents, an intercensal change of +17.4%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Pulo Mabao is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Olutanga is a municipality comprising 19 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pulo Mabao, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
