Barangay Batuan

Barangay Batuan is a small barangay in the city of Ormoc City, located in the province of Leyte, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Batuan had a population of 670. This made it the 78th largest of 110 barangays in Ormoc City by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Batuan accounted for approximately 0.29% of the total population of Ormoc City, which stood at 230,998 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Batuan moving from 632 residents to 670 residents, an intercensal change of +6.0%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Batuan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
