Barangay Concepcion

Situated in Ormoc City, Leyte, Barangay Concepcion is one of 110 barangays that make up the city within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Concepcion had a population of 1,930. This made it the 46th largest of 110 barangays in Ormoc City by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Concepcion accounted for approximately 0.84% of the total population of Ormoc City, which stood at 230,998 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,557 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,930 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -24.5%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Concepcion as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Ormoc City is a city comprising 110 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Concepcion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
