Barangay Juaton

Situated in Ormoc City, Leyte, Barangay Juaton is one of 110 barangays that make up the city within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Juaton had a population of 2,282. This made it the 36th largest of 110 barangays in Ormoc City by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Juaton accounted for approximately 0.99% of the total population of Ormoc City, which stood at 230,998 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,071 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,282 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +10.2%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Juaton as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Ormoc City is a city comprising 110 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Juaton, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Leyte, which contains 1,641 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Juaton ranks 168th by 2020 population.
