Barangay Gawi

Situated in Oslob, Cebu, Barangay Gawi is one of 21 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Gawi had a population of 1,876. This made it the 3rd largest of 21 barangays in Oslob by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Gawi accounted for approximately 6.41% of the total population of Oslob, which stood at 29,264 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Gawi changed from 1,685 to 1,876, a shift of +11.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Oslob. Barangay Gawi is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Oslob is a municipality comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Gawi, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
