Situated in Pagsanjan, Laguna, Barangay Cabanbanan is one of 16 barangays that make up the municipality within CALABARZON.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Cabanbanan had a population of 5,907. This made it the 2nd largest of 16 barangays in Pagsanjan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cabanbanan accounted for approximately 13.33% of the total population of Pagsanjan, which stood at 44,327 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 5,394 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 5,907 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +9.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Cabanbanan is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Pagsanjan is a municipality comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cabanbanan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
