Barangay Poblacion 2

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Poblacion 2 is one of the administrative divisions of Pasuquin in Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Poblacion 2 had a population of 1,821. This made it the 2nd largest of 33 barangays in Pasuquin by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion 2 accounted for approximately 6.14% of the total population of Pasuquin, which stood at 29,678 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,919 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,821 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -5.1%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Poblacion 2 is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Pasuquin is a municipality comprising 33 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion 2, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Ilocos Norte, which contains 559 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Poblacion 2 ranks 57th by 2020 population. The next BSKE is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, following the synchronized election schedule set by COMELEC Resolution No. 11191.
