Barangay Baung

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Baung is one of the administrative divisions of Piat in Cagayan, Cagayan Valley, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Baung had a population of 1,426. This made it the 6th largest of 18 barangays in Piat by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Baung accounted for approximately 5.75% of the total population of Piat, which stood at 24,805 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Baung moving from 1,372 residents to 1,426 residents, an intercensal change of +3.9%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Baung is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
