Barangay Ab-abut

Classified as a very small barangay, Barangay Ab-abut is one of the administrative divisions of Piddig in Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Ab-abut had a population of 462. This made it the 21st largest of 23 barangays in Piddig by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Ab-abut accounted for approximately 2.06% of the total population of Piddig, which stood at 22,475 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Ab-abut moving from 412 residents to 462 residents, an intercensal change of +12.1%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Ab-abut is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
