This made it the 7th largest of 42 barangays in Pikit by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Dalingaoen accounted for approximately 2.17% of the total population of Pikit, which stood at 164,646 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Dalingaoen changed from 2,721 to 3,571, a shift of +31.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Pikit. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Dalingaoen as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
