Situated in Pikit, Cotabato, Barangay Silik is one of 42 barangays that make up the municipality within SOCCSKSARGEN.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Silik had a population of 1,671. This made it the 17th largest of 42 barangays in Pikit by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Silik accounted for approximately 1.01% of the total population of Pikit, which stood at 164,646 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,230 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,671 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +35.9%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Silik is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Pikit is a municipality comprising 42 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Silik, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
