Barangay Diwa

Barangay Diwa forms part of Pilar, a municipality in Bataan, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Diwa had a population of 2,816. This made it the 5th largest of 19 barangays in Pilar by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Diwa accounted for approximately 6.09% of the total population of Pilar, which stood at 46,239 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Diwa moving from 2,491 residents to 2,816 residents, an intercensal change of +13.0%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Diwa is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Pilar is a municipality comprising 19 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Diwa, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
