Barangay New Look

Situated in Plaridel, Misamis Occidental, Barangay New Look is one of 33 barangays that make up the municipality within Northern Mindanao.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay New Look had a population of 356. This made it the 32nd largest of 33 barangays in Plaridel by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay New Look accounted for approximately 0.89% of the total population of Plaridel, which stood at 39,840 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay New Look changed from 403 to 356, a shift of -11.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Plaridel. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay New Look as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Plaridel is a municipality comprising 33 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay New Look, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Misamis Occidental, which contains 490 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay New Look ranks 453rd by 2020 population.
