Barangay Southern Poblacion

Situated in Plaridel, Misamis Occidental, Barangay Southern Poblacion is one of 33 barangays that make up the municipality within Northern Mindanao.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Southern Poblacion had a population of 1,847. This made it the 8th largest of 33 barangays in Plaridel by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Southern Poblacion accounted for approximately 4.64% of the total population of Plaridel, which stood at 39,840 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Southern Poblacion changed from 1,894 to 1,847, a shift of -2.5% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Plaridel.
