Situated in Polangui, Albay, Barangay Cepres is one of 44 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

This made it the 24th largest of 44 barangays in Polangui by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cepres accounted for approximately 1.70% of the total population of Polangui, which stood at 89,176 in the same census year.
