Barangay La Purisima

Situated in Polangui, Albay, Barangay La Purisima is one of 44 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay La Purisima had a population of 488. This made it the 44th largest of 44 barangays in Polangui by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay La Purisima accounted for approximately 0.55% of the total population of Polangui, which stood at 89,176 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay La Purisima changed from 572 to 488, a shift of -14.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Polangui. Barangay La Purisima is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Polangui is a municipality comprising 44 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay La Purisima, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
