Barangay Maynaga

Situated in Polangui, Albay, Barangay Maynaga is one of 44 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Maynaga had a population of 1,384. This made it the 27th largest of 44 barangays in Polangui by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Maynaga accounted for approximately 1.55% of the total population of Polangui, which stood at 89,176 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,349 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,384 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +2.6%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Maynaga as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Polangui is a municipality comprising 44 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Maynaga, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
