Barangay Balacag

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Balacag is one of the administrative divisions of Pozorrubio in Pangasinan, Ilocos Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Balacag had a population of 980. This made it the 32nd largest of 34 barangays in Pozorrubio by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Balacag accounted for approximately 1.31% of the total population of Pozorrubio, which stood at 74,729 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Balacag changed from 806 to 980, a shift of +21.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Pozorrubio. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Balacag as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Pozorrubio is a municipality comprising 34 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Balacag, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
