Barangay Butan

Situated in President Carlos P. Garcia, Bohol, Barangay Butan is one of 23 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Butan had a population of 546. This made it the 19th largest of 23 barangays in President Carlos P. Garcia by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Butan accounted for approximately 2.31% of the total population of President Carlos P. Garcia, which stood at 23,625 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 569 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 546 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -4.0%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Butan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

President Carlos P. Garcia is a municipality comprising 23 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Butan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
