Barangay Butong

Barangay Butong forms part of Quezon, a municipality in Bukidnon, and is classified as a large barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Butong had a population of 14,154. This made it the 2nd largest of 31 barangays in Quezon by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Butong accounted for approximately 12.91% of the total population of Quezon, which stood at 109,624 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Butong moving from 13,258 residents to 14,154 residents, an intercensal change of +6.8%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Butong is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Quezon is a municipality comprising 31 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Butong, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Bukidnon, which contains 464 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Butong ranks 8th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
