Barangay No. 7 (Pob.)

Barangay No. 7 (Pob.) is a small barangay in the municipality of Quinapondan, located in the province of Eastern Samar, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay No. 7 (Pob.) had a population of 1,024. This made it the 3rd largest of 25 barangays in Quinapondan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay No. 7 (Pob.) accounted for approximately 7.06% of the total population of Quinapondan, which stood at 14,507 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 896 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,024 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +14.3%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay No. 7 (Pob.) as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Quinapondan is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay No. 7 (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Eastern Samar, which contains 597 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay No. 7 (Pob.) ranks 142nd by 2020 population. Eastern Samar is classified as a 2nd by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

Barangay No. 7 (Pob.) is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
