Barangay Canaan West

Barangay Canaan West is a small barangay in the municipality of Rizal, located in the province of Nueva Ecija, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Canaan West had a population of 1,012. This made it the 23rd largest of 26 barangays in Rizal by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Canaan West accounted for approximately 1.44% of the total population of Rizal, which stood at 70,196 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Canaan West changed from 1,006 to 1,012, a shift of +0.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in Rizal. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Canaan West as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Rizal is a municipality comprising 26 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Canaan West, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
