Barangay New Dapitan

Barangay New Dapitan is a small barangay in the municipality of Rizal, located in the province of Zamboanga Del Norte, in the Zamboanga Peninsula region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay New Dapitan had a population of 1,058. This made it the 2nd largest of 22 barangays in Rizal by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay New Dapitan accounted for approximately 7.03% of the total population of Rizal, which stood at 15,052 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay New Dapitan moving from 940 residents to 1,058 residents, an intercensal change of +12.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay New Dapitan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
