Barangay Baluncanag

Situated in Rizal, Cagayan, Barangay Baluncanag is one of 29 barangays that make up the municipality within Cagayan Valley.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Baluncanag had a population of 852. This made it the 8th largest of 29 barangays in Rizal by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Baluncanag accounted for approximately 4.47% of the total population of Rizal, which stood at 19,077 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 830 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 852 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +2.7%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Baluncanag as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
